Directed by Peter Clark, with a superb cast of well known local actors; Joe Isaia, Keith Scrivens, Jacqui Warner, Rodney Van Groningen, John Taylor,Amanda Watson, Krysia Wiechecki, Brendan Tobin, Clare Wood.
This wonderful comedy was written by Oscar Wilde and first performedat the St. James Theatre on Valentines Day 1895.
In this play two young gentlemen living in 1930s England have taken to bending thetruth in order to put some excitement into their lives.Jack Worthing has invented a brother, Earnest, who he uses as an excuse to leave his dullcountry life behind to visit the ravishing Gwendolen...... Algy Montcrieff decides to take thename Earnest when visiting Worthings young and beautiful ward, Cecily at the countrymanor. Things start to go awry when they end up together in the country, and theirdeceptions are discovered - threatening to spoil their romantic pursuits.
